Lima Gastronomic Tour

  • This tour has been carefully selected as (apart from being excellent) it has a 10:00am start time. You will likely be arriving to Lima late last night so the extra couple of hours in bed may be greatly appreciated.
  • Today we will introduce you to the history of Peruvian gastronomy.  Our culinary adventure begins at a typical Peruvian Market.  There, you will be able to appreciate a wide variety of Peruvian product and enjoy and taste exotic fruits.  Be amazed by the huge variety of fish and seafood our ocean, considered one of the richest in the World, has to offer.
  • We will also visit an exclusive restaurant where you will have the opportunity to prepare your own Pisco Sour the Peruvian National Drink and Ceviche the Peruvian National Dish.  Later you will enjoy a delicious lunch, consisting of the most symbolic dishes of Peruvian cuisine.

Lima City Tour

  • Ancestral Lima - We start our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid” a magnificent
ceremonial and archeological center built in the 4th century a.d. and considered a “Sacred Village” by the Incas.  The Viceroyalty of Perú was the most important of the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital.
  • Colonial Lima - We visit the Historical Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty
monuments and Colonial edifications, such as the Paseo de la República, the San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and the City Council Palace amongst others. We will visit the Museum of the Banco Central de Reserva (closed Saturday, Sunday & Monday), where we will admire the “Treasures of Perú” collection, a fine selection of objects made of gold, ceramics and textiles from different pre-columbian cultures. We will visit the monumental San Francisco Convent which displays the largest collection of religious art in America.  Our highlight will be the visit of the underground vaults, known as “Catacumbas” or Catacombs.
  • Contemporary Lima - We will visit traditional residential areas of Lima, such as El Olivar of San Isidro, Miraflores, and Larcomar.
