Itinerary in Brief

Day 1 - Arrive Lima‍At Lima Airport we will meet you for your approx. 1 Hour Private Transfer to your Hotel in Lima the 5* Miraflores Park Hotel, Junior Suite with Pacific Ocean Views. Upon arrival, a short briefing for your upcoming vacation and the activities tomorrow.

Day 2 - Lima ToursToday your Choice of Lima City Tours. We recommend the Lima Gourmet Tour however the choice is yours. Overnight at the 5* Miraflores Park Hotel, Junior Suite with Pacific Ocean Views.

Day 3 - Fly CuscoPrivate Transfer to Lima Airport, for your approx. 1 Hour 30-minute flights to Cusco. Upon arrival, a Private Transfer to your Hotel in Cusco, The 5* Palacio Nazarenas Hotel Cusco, Junior Suites. This afternoon a Private Cusco City Tour.

Day 4 - Sacred Valley of the IncaFull Day Private Tour of The Sacred Valley of the Inca, including both Pisac and Ollantaytambo, the only place where the Inca defeated the Spanish Conquistadors. 5* Palacio Nazarenas Hotel Cusco, Junior Suites.

Day 5 - Salkantay Trek - Cusco to Salkantay LodgeAfter leaving Limatambo, we pass through the mountain village of Mollepata where we stop for a short coffee break before ascending a winding mountain road to a place called Marcoccasa. Here, we begin our trek to Soraypampa, on an old route called the “Camino Real” (Royal Path), a beautiful six-hour trek.

Day 6 - Hike to Humantay LakeHike on the slopes above the lodge to Lake Humantay The hike is optional, but the views are amazing, and those brave enough can even go for a dip. We return to the lodge for lunch, after which you may choose to trade the glacial swim for a relaxing soak in our outdoor jacuzzi.

Day 7 - Crossing the Salkantay PassThis is the big day! We Hike to the highest point on the trek, the Salkantay Pass at 4,638 m (15,213 ft).  We will keep our eyes out for Andean condors. From the pass we descend towards Wayra Lodge our destination for the evening. A hot lunch is served en route; dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 8 - Descending into the cloud forest - Today we hike along the left bank of the Salkantay River through increasingly verdant scenery. Upon arrival at Colpa Lodge we are greeted with a Pachamanca meal, a traditional festive Peruvian meal cooked by layering meat and vegetables with hot stones. Afternoon relaxing or exploring the nearby orchid trail.

Day 9 - Following the Santa Teresa River Valley‍Today we hike along the Santa Teresa river valley.  We pass through banana, granadilla and coffee plantations. After lunch, we hike another hour before a private vehicle meets us for a short drive to the beginning of the Llactapata Inca Trail (30-minute or so). Dinner and overnight at Lucma lodge.

Day 10 - Machu Picchu! - Today we head uphill for 2-3 hours towards Llactapata Pass (2,736 m/8,974ft), where we come upon a distant but spectacular view of Machu Picchu. We take a short break to explore the Llactapata Ruins. Final descent to the Aobamba River. Short train ride to the Luxury 5* Pueblo Hotel.

Day 11 - Machu Picchu Tours and Return to CuscoEarly morning guided tour of Machu Picchu followed by free time for further exploration or a hike up Huayna Picchu.  Vistdome Train to Cusco.  5* Marriott Hotel Cusco

Day 12 - Transfer to Airport & Fly HomeThis morning an early Transfer up river by motorized canoe to Puerto Maldonado Airport to catch your Lunchtime flights to Lima, approx 3 hours, and your connecting International Flights home.
